March 2 Recovery with Deb, Harlow, and me
Morning. Are you the helpful sort? Here’s a way you can help me, help your friends, and help survivors of the March 2 tornados.
Now through July 13, 2012, I’m donating $2 from the sale of each paperback purchased through this link to March 2 Recovery: https://www.createspace.com/3893531

March 2 Recovery is a locally-formed not-for-profit that was put in place in the face of dire need following the March 2 disaster. Many people may not be aware of the March 2 tornados, so I’ll keep my summary short. Suffice it to say, it blew the town of Henryville, IN away. The school was destroyed, homes were destroyed, and worst of all, some families were destroyed. There are so many videos and photos available on the net, just fire up google if you’re interested.
A good friend of mine made me aware of March 2 Recovery when she got involved with the steering committee. There are so many things about applying for FEMA aid that I never knew before she told me. It is a really convoluted process and the time and energy it takes can be WAY too much after you’ve spent months trying to pick up the pieces of your life, quite literally. There are still many families sleeping on couches, living like homeless, you name it. Imagine going to them and saying “You need to apply for XYZ aid, and then be rejected, before ABC aid will help you.” It’s like that, only it’s much more complicated than that. And yet *someone* has to help, don’t they? I am fortunate to know more than one person who has been elbow-deep in the clean-up and the “put back together” from Day 1, March 2.
Would you consider posting about this today on your FB wall, or on your twitter, or on your blog? And consider buying a book, if you haven’t already.
Yes, it helps me because it gets my book out there in front of fresh eyes. But it also helps people discover a new book, while helping tornado survivors move on with their lives.
So far, I’ve sold…let me check…zero paperbacks. That’s $0 raised for March 2 Recovery. So, yes, your help is needed.
Thanks & have a great day!
My husband & son were excited to unpack some paperbacks last night!
